Saint Mary Magdalen School

Christian Formation Committee
(CFC)

The CFC is one of five standing committees of the Parish Pastoral Council, and is established and governed by Diocesan guidelines. The CFC is concerned with total Catholic Education in the parish. In collaboration with the pastor, it is to provide leadership and guidance in the area of Christian formation, and to formulate goals and objectives that will guide Catholic formation programs for children, youth and adults. The committee is comprised of five components: the School Component which shall function as a school board for St. Mary Magdalen School, the Religious Education Component, the Adult Formation Component, the RCIA Component and the Youth Ministry Component.  A full component meeting is held on a regular basis and a report goes to Pastoral Council by the CFC  representative.

CFC School Component

The CFC School Component is comprised of up to twelve persons elected by school families or appointed by the pastor. The term of office is for two years, and no more than three consecutive terms may be served. Elections take place every Spring and an average of three persons are elected each year. During the school year, the school component meets monthly, in the Library. Meeting minutes are recorded and sent to the full CFC, the Associate Pastor, Pastoral Council and the SMM faculty.
